Shortlist announced for the UK Cloud Awards 2018

Most innovative cloud providers, products and projects selected from record number of entries

The Cloud Industry Forum (CIF) and Cloud Pro have today announced the shortlist for the UK Cloud Awards 2018, having narrowed down the hundreds of entries to a select few.

The awards, first launched in 2014, celebrate innovation, entrepreneurialism and technical excellence from the leading cloud suppliers, technologies and projects in the in the UK cloud sector. The ceremony, which is being sponsored by Ingram Micro Cloud will reward the best in the industry as chosen by a panel of expert judges. The winners will be revealed at a ceremony at London City Hall on May 16th 2018.

Alex Hilton, CEO of CIF, said: “This is the fifth year we have run the UK Cloud Awards and we are delighted to announce that we had a record number of entries this year, confirming our belief that they are now a recognised feature of the technology industry’s awards calendar.

“Over the past decade we have witnessed phenomenal innovation and the truly transformational use of cloud services. The depth, strength and maturity of the cloud industry in the UK is apparent. It’s going to be extremely difficult to pick the winners in each and every category and we would like to congratulate everyone that has got this far. I would like to take the opportunity to wish everyone that has made the cut the best of luck on the night.”

Frank Bennett, head judge for the UK Cloud Awards, continued: "Entries for the UK Cloud Awards have improved year on year as the technology has continued to transform the business landscape. When we started the awards, cloud technology was in its infancy and companies had yet to realise the potential benefits that it has to offer. That is no longer the case and this year’s entries have emphasised the outstanding work that vendors, suppliers and individuals have contributed to the UK cloud market. I would like to congratulate everyone that has been shortlisted and let everyone know that the process of choosing the winners is going to be the most challenging decision yet.”

Paul Franklin, Group Publisher, Technology Division, Dennis Publishing, added: “The calibre and sheer volume of entries that we received for the awards this year demonstrates that the UK cloud industry has come of age. These awards were established to highlight innovation and achievement in the British cloud computing sector, benchmarking the amazing cloud leadership in the UK. A big thank you is owed to everyone who has helped make the awards possible and I have every confidence that this will be our best ceremony yet.”
